Ryan Marchand, Acting and Movement Instructor

Ryan is a founding member of 11th Hour Ensemble, a physical theatre troupe melding dance and theater forms. During 2009-2011, he helped develop and perform in their original adaptation of "Alice," which received a 2010 CA$H Grant. Ryan served as the stage manager for Aileen Clark's original production at the 2011 NY International Fringe Festival. Ryan also performed with the experimental Theatre of Yugen, whose work is founded in the traditional Japanese theatrical forms Noh and Kyogen. He performed in their production of "Candide" and participated in their production of Dogsbody, which premiered at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. He first began working with children at Ryo Dojo, where he studied Hawaiian Kenpo karate under Bill Ryusaki for over nine years. Ryan graduated from SFSU with a B.A. in French and a minor in Theatre Arts.
